Philly Create Juneteenth 2023
Philly Create is a vibrant community that brings together models, photographers, designers, and content creators with a shared passion for creativity and collaboration. This community acts as a platform for individuals from various
artistic backgrounds to connect, exchange ideas, and work together to produce innovative and inspiring content. The session held on June 24, 2023 at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance was set to the theme of Juneteenth.
Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. It marks the day in 1865 when Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that the enslaved
people were free, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Juneteenth carries deep historical significance, symbolizing the end of slavery and the ongoing struggle for equality and civil rights.
It is a time for reflection, education, and celebration of African American heritage and achievements.
