Labor Day weekend arrived with that perfect late-summer light—golden, warm, and inviting. While many photographers might head to crowded festivals or staged events, I decided to spend my mid-morning doing what I love most: wandering through Schuylkill River Park with my camera, capturing the authentic moments that make street photography so compelling.

Perhaps the sunflower knows the way:

Nestled along the banks of the Schuylkill River, the Ironworks at Pencoyd Landing is a stunning example of how historic industrial sites can be revitalized for modern use while preserving their rich heritage. Once a crucial part of Philadelphia’s booming steel industry, this site has been transformed into a dynamic waterfront destination, blending history, innovation, and community.

Originally the backdrop for an Easter special event we produced at the former Bazaar of All Nations in Clifton Heights, this cherry tree has had a permanent home for 45 years in the front yard of at my house in Lansdowne, PA. It is usually one of the very first cherry trees to come in to full bloom in this region and has been a regular attraction to visitors in the area.
