My Approach to Portrait Photography

Great portraits don’t begin with a camera – they begin with trust.

Before I take a single photograph, I take the time to listen. I want to understand who you are, what you’re hoping to express, and what will make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. Every session is a collaboration built on communication, respect, and professionalism.

My background extends beyond photography. As a University of Pennsylvania graduate with a lifelong career in education, business, and the arts, I’ve spent decades learning how to connect with people from every walk of life. Those experiences have taught me that the strongest images come from genuine trust – not direction, pressure, or performance.

Whether you’re a professional model, an artist building a portfolio, or someone who’s never been photographed before, you deserve an experience where your voice matters. You are always in control of your comfort level. We discuss ideas together, and if something doesn’t feel right, we simply choose another direction.

I welcome questions, feedback, and collaboration throughout every session.
You’re also always welcome and even encouraged to bring a friend or support person if that helps you feel more at ease.

Photography should leave you with more than beautiful images. It should leave you feeling seen, respected, and confident.

That has always been my philosophy, and it always will be.
