Nicole Burgio

Nicole Burgio started gymnastics at age 5, excelling in the sport until her time at Temple University, where she studied Psychology. She achieved national rankings and competed at the elite level.

Later, she developed a passion for circus and studied aerial arts at the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts while pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical and Counseling Health Psychology at the Philadelphia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
She continued her circus training at the New England School of Circus Arts, specializing in aerial arts and partner acrobatics. She also received mentorship from renowned coaches at the Ecole Nationale de Cirque in Montreal.

Nicole’s talents were recognized by Almanac Dance Circus Theater, who hired her as an acrobatic consultant. She eventually became an ensemble member, fully embracing acting, physical theater, and ensemble creation alongside her circus pursuits.
As a circus artist, Nicole has performed worldwide at prestigious festivals, theaters, cruise ships, and on television. She currently tours her solo show, “xoxo moongirl,” and is excited to showcase it at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

In addition to her performing career, Nicole takes pride in coaching circus arts. She specializes in creating acts and developing ensembles. She recently played a key role in establishing the professional ensemble program at
Casa de Artes Circo Contemporaneo, Mexico’s largest circus school. She also teaches acrobatics at the Circadium School of Contemporary Circus in Philadelphia, USA.

It was a welcome and much needed escape during the Covid pandemic.
