At ExpoMetro Florence 2026, I’ll exhibit two black-and-white photographs, A Quiet Moment in a Crowded World and Beneath the Brim, in the Immersive Art Tunnel in Florence, Italy, on November 28 and 29.

Florence will be my sixth exhibition with ExpoMetro, following shows in Milan, Miami Beach, Barcelona, Rome, and Madrid.

The exhibition takes place in a busy pedestrian passage connecting the Santa Maria Novella train station and basilica. For two days, LED screens will turn 25 metres of walls and ceiling into a gallery, pairing artwork with music as people make their way through the city. ExpoMetro estimates that 100,000 people will pass through the tunnel over the weekend.

Two photographs in black and white

A Quiet Moment in a Crowded World captures a woman seated beneath the glow of city lights, her attention turned inward as life carries on around her. I’m drawn to the idea of this photograph appearing in a busy passageway. Someone on their way to catch a train might look up and recognize that feeling of being alone with your thoughts in the middle of a crowd.

Beneath the Brim is a portrait of model Saffron. The wide brim of her hat shades her eyes, while a sliver of light draws attention to her lips and the contours of her face. I wanted to see how much of someone’s presence a portrait could convey with so much of her expression left to the imagination.

An exhibition with artists from around the world

ExpoMetro brings together artists from Europe, the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Asia. I’m glad to share the tunnel with artists whose work I might never encounter otherwise. For visitors, there’s a chance to discover someone’s work in the time it takes to walk through the passage. A QR code lets them explore the exhibition and find the artists’ websites and social media.
