Every photographer hopes to create images that do more than capture a moment. The best photographs become part of a story, one that grows, evolves, and reaches new audiences.
Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of photographing local singer and songwriter Cianni Abri, an emerging artist whose talent, authenticity, and passion continue to earn well-deserved recognition.
What began as a portrait session has become an ongoing creative collaboration.
One of those images, “Wrapped in Rhythm,” was selected for exhibition during Expo Metro Madrid 2026, placing Cianni’s portrait before thousands of commuters and visitors in the heart of Spain. Seeing the work displayed internationally was a reminder that local artists can have a global impact when given the opportunity.
Closer to home, I recently had the opportunity to document Cianni’s live performance at the Camden Arts Yard. Concert photography is about much more than documenting an event – it’s about preserving emotion, energy, and the connection between an artist and an audience. Every frame tells part of the story that music alone cannot.
Now that story has expanded once again.
A billboard featuring my photographs of Cianni is being displayed along Interstate 95, one of the region’s busiest highways, during the excitement surrounding the FIFA World Cup 2026. Night after night, thousands of drivers and visitors traveling through the Philadelphia region have the opportunity to discover a talented local musician through a series of striking images.
This is one of the things I love most about photography.
A portrait isn’t simply a picture. It becomes an album cover, a concert promotion, a social media campaign, an international art exhibit, or a billboard seen by countless strangers. The right image can introduce an artist to an entirely new audience and create opportunities that never existed before.
Supporting local creatives has always been an important part of my work at Art Imagined Photography. Whether photographing musicians, actors, entrepreneurs, or families, my goal is the same: create authentic images that help people tell their story with confidence and purpose.
Watching Cianni’s journey continue to unfold, from local performances to international exposure and regional advertising is a reminder that art is most powerful when artists support one another.
I’m excited to see where her music takes her next, and I’m grateful that my camera has been able to play a small part in documenting and sharing that journey.
